Shawn Lattimer –
Works very well for what it is. Breakaway torque is low, but I expected that. Turning torque after its moving is pretty good. If you run a 5/16″ bolt down at full speed it gets pretty tight before the ratchet quits. Solid construction, even though the handle is plastic. The LED light on this is handy. Battery life seems very good, I used it all day on various fasteners on my project truck and did not run the battery down. I did purchase a second battery so I have one fully charged at all times. Variable speed works well, but I’m mostly using it to same time and wear and tear on my wrists, so I run it full speed most of the time.
Overall, very handy for home garage/hobbyist use. Might not hold up in a professional environment.

Short review: Works great. Huge time saver. Long review: Great tool as are most Milwaukee power tools I have owned. This tool isn’t going to do anything you can’t already do with a normal ratchet or even a power drill with a 3/8 inch socket adapter, but man it is such a time saver. It is just handy to have this dedicated socket power tool. I thought I would just use this for working on cars, tractors, or other machinery. However, it is so handy, I have it in my general handyman tool tote with a small socket set. It saves so much time on all kinds of little projects. I just used it the other day to disassemble a bed frame that uses about 6 inch lag screws. It turned a 10-15 minute job into a 5 minute job. Zips those screws or nuts right out or off. Battery life seems good. It has a light on it that I do find handy sometimes. It is like a two stage trigger. Pull it a little and the light turns on without the tool running. Pull the trigger further and the tool runs. The tool seems to have good torque. It isn’t going to break rusty or really tight bolts. It isn’t an impact wrench. However, the tool is built to allow the user to use it like a ratchet to break loose the nut or tighten it at the end. I have found that it works fine for most nut/bolts I encounter, but obviously you have to get a regular ratchet to break the nuts loose sometimes. It seems plenty durable for the DIYer or farmer or similar use. I can’t attest to how it would hold up in a professional setting. I also, can’t say how it compares to an air ratchet as I have never owned one. I use this tool for DIY home use/handyman use/farm work/DIY mechanic work. It has held up well so far. The one negative is the price of Milwaukee power tools. They are good tools, but I think you probably pay extra for the brand name. Other cheaper brands usually work just fine. However, I try to stick to one or two brands so I don’t have a bunch of different batteries and chargers. Bottom line is I find it handy and a durable tool for a DIY type of person. Not sure how it would hold up to every day professional use.

As the previous reviewer noted, the price for this tool on Amazon.ca cannot be beat. Free shipping as well! The tool itself works great and has a surprising amount of torque. It will loosen most smaller bolts without any need for the user to add any extra torque to the tool. A couple things that I can nitpik with: occasionally I find the trigger would be better placed under my thumb rather than on the bottom of the tool. Also, when tightening a fastener, the tool continues to rotate the head for a bit after the trigger is released – this can lead to over-tightening. Other than that, I find the battery will last all day on a fairly big project, and it has enough speed and torque to really speed up dis-assembly and assembly.

I bought one for work and immediately decided to get another one for home.
Cannot beat the price. Quality is good. 5 year warranty on the tool and a 2 year warranty on the battery.
You get a battery, a charger, a soft case, and a 3/8 to 1/4 inch adapter in this kit. Most places sell the tool by itself for more than this kit. Cheaper on Amazon.ca than any place in the US. Why shop down there? The ratchet kit arrived in a day and a half. Free shiping, too!
Finally, no need to struggle with air hose and compressor. I have a nice Ingersoll Rand ratchet at home and work, but this thing is perfect for those small, quick jobs.

I don’t have a compressor at home so electric impact guns and ratchets are a great help to me. I believe this is the best ratchet I can get for this money. It has plenty of power (35 ft lbs) for most people. If you need more power, then Ingersoll Rand (55 ft lbs) would be your choice. It chargers in about two hours or less. The only thing I’m not 100% happy with it is the diameter of the handle is a bit too big for my liking, and I don’t have a small hand.

cumple con el servicio por el cual la compre, algo grande pero funcional,

Shipping was fast, had it in two days. Had it shipped to my work. When it arrived, I opened it up and the battery had a half charge. Made sure it worked and put the battery on the charger. Didn’t keep track of how long it took to charge fully, but it had to be well under an hour.
I am a professional technician at a John Deere dealer and we use a system similar to a flat rate automotive shop so time is money. I mainly purchased this tool to remove shrouds and other places where my cordless impact won’t fit. I had purchased and returned a used Matco 1/4 Infinum ratchet kit (due to a faulty trigger). The tool rep said it was going to be about a month to get the tool back from the repair shop. I had just paid over $250 for it and was very ticked off about it, which led me to buy this ratchet.
This ratchet is considerably more compact then the Matco ratchet and about half the price. I was I first used it to remove some plastic shrouds on a John Deere Gator. The tool handled that with ease. Next, I used it to remove all the battery lug bolts on the same Gator. It is an electric Gator, so it has about 8 batteries. Again, it did it with ease. I used it to remove the electric motor attached to the rear transaxle. Those bolts were more than the ratchet could break free. In this instance, I was able to use two nice features of this ratchet. First being the “overload protection”. When the fastener is to tight, the ratchet shuts off so you don’t pin your hand up against something, unlike your standard air ratchet would do. The second feature, the tool can be used as a standard ratchet. In this case, I broke to bolts free by hand, then used the tool to remove the fastener.
I also used this to remove and replace a battery in a garden tractor. Normally, I would use a ratchet and wrench to do the job but this time I chose to use this ratchet. As I expected, it made quick work of it. I really like its compact design. It easily fit in the area the battery is located.
This is the first Milwaukee tool that I have bought, and I will probably purchase more of their M12 line up. All of my other electric tools are DeWalt 20v, and they do not offer a ratchet like this. A few other techs I work with have these ratchets and love them. One down side of the Milwaukee vs. Matco is the Matco had a grease fitting on the head. I don’t recall seeing one on the Milwaukee ratchet. I will update this review as I use this tool.

I have a lot of different brands of tools being a technician and lot of snap on / mac / master craft, you name it but this is the only Milwaukee tool in my toolbox right now. I use it often and it has stood up… the only reason I do not give it 5 stars is because after “35” ft/lbs if you push the ratchet a little harder like you can with an air ratchet to really snug a bolt… you can sometimes hear cracking sounds and the battery pack is sensitive to being pushed on which is hard to remember when your a busy flat rate tech, also it is bulkier than I thought it was going to be. build quality is good… shipping from amazon was excellent…battery life is good. if you plan to use it as your main tool I would recommend snap on as their cordless ratchet has a thinner diameter allowing it to be used in places this thing can’t
overall its a good buy but if your a full time technician working flat rate, all I can say is I hope Milwaukee stands by their warranty!
update: (2 and a half years later)
I finally broke the thing after lots of abuse.. I contacted Milwaukee about warranty and they mailed me a brand new one free of charge and gave me a few free goodies.
excellent tool with a great warranty. updated from 4 stars to 5 because of warranty
