I don’t normally use gaming laptops but it has come a long way in terms of performance. The 4080 is pretty good for a mobile gpu, but I still have to use DLSS for best performance. Also very competent for media creation like video editing.
Horrible battery. Always use battery saver mode while not plugged to get near the advertised hours, otherwise you’re looking at 1-1.5 hrs. This is more of a desktop replacement, with sparse portability (or portable with power brick with you at all times).
Software is pretty buggy. It is sluggish and sometimes resets your settings.
Fan is loud, but you all knew that.
Also what was not mentioned on Amazon was this version has clicky mechanical keyboard switches, which I hate.
Not the most accurate colors, not too bright either.
There’s better alternatives for the money, including AW’s own M series. And IMO worse value than MacBooks in everything but gaming.
I normally like other AW products like their monitors, but this ain’t it.

I bought this for my son. He really likes it and works for what he wanted it for. I would highly recommend.

I’ve had this laptop for about 3 months now. I game on it pretty regularly. Always get high frame rates on high settings. So no complaint there. Yes it gets really hot while gaming around 82 degrees Celsius for the gpu. What I like about it is it pretty much stops using cpu and only uses the gpu while gaming. The charger does get hot but I have no need to touch it unless I’m just moving it around to get it out of the way. I’ve always wanted and Alienware and I’m 100% happy with what I bought and wouldn’t trade it for anything

This Big boy can easily be considered a King of the gaming laptop world.
It’s large 17″ screen, hefty build structure, solid presence and powerful capability is what i wanted from an expensive gaming laptop and it delivers in those criteria s
I got the NVIDIA 3070ti version with 16GB RAM which is plenty of power for modern day gaming.
It’s built like a tank so if you are looking for thin and easy this might not be it but if you want a proper and big screen to game and what not this is it

Great product that you have to understand how to update before its use. After all your system has been updated, then you can enjoy it. The only thing that that I don’t like it’s the battery life. As for the rest it’s an excellent product.

Don’t need to talk much about machine itself since it is a GOOD one.
When I was unboxing the package it almost got me heart attack. The damage on inner box looks very scary. I am glad the protection inside inner box did its job. No scratch on machine and so far no broken on screen or hardware noticed.

*UPDATE: The computer now won’t even start. Just sent it back to Dell to have it repaired. There is 0 chance I’ll get my money back. Under the warranty they will just keep “repairing” it, but I have no hopes that it ever will work properly. I’ll update if it starts to work or Dell decides to allow me to return it so I can buy a proper machine.

This laptop works pretty well if you need to do relatively robust video processing. I say relatively. That said, I was on a Zoom meeting and it crashed, so there’s that. The battery life isn’t great, either. But I bought it to travel with and do video editing. The main problem is that the audio just does not work properly. I’ve never experienced anything like this. It sounds like the audio is being processed through the blades of a helicopter. Until recently, this has only been a problem on the speakers of the laptop. Now, it happens with headphones, too (though in this case the audio just doesn’t come out). Who needs audio anyway? If you’re deaf, this is a pretty good laptop (in all seriousness). If you want to hear things coming out of the computer, get a different device and save yourself getting bent over the barrel for it.

I was very excited to receive my very expensive, first Alienware laptop. Out of the box, it did not disappoint. Software was a little buggy, but that was only a minor annoyance at best. The performance was incredible, I was very pleased. It worked very well, until suddenly it didn’t work at all. The power just went off, and it wouldn’t turn back on. I assumed that maybe it overheated. I left it off and unplugged for a while, then plugged it back in and let it sit a little longer. Still didn’t work. I followed numerous suggestions I found online, but the system remained lifeless. Unfortunately, I was forced to do a return for a refund (replacement was not offered). I’m left with a negative view of Alienware after this experience. Had it concked out a few weeks later, I would have been beyond Amazon’s return period. Then, I would have had to deal with the manufacturer. So, great performing laptop, when it works. But, buyer beware….

It managed to get into this boot loop within the first week, though, which could’ve been my fault. I had to send it out to Dell. They repaired it and sent it back and it’s been running great since. I think they’re great computers. Most games I run balls to the wall, with v-sync on. No problems.

Llego antes de lo previsto y la uso para correr el F1 24 en Vr con el Oculus Quest 3 y con un rendimiento medio corre sin ningún problema, juegos con menos latencia y menor demanda como el League of legends corren al 100% con gráficos en máximo
