Have to say I didn’t want to get this as I always use my phone gps while roadtripping but my wife talked me into it. Have used this for cpl months….this sucker is awesome!!!
    -Voice command works great!
-History markers and detailed description (this makes roadtrips 10x better because it shows an “H” where historic event happend)
    -National Parks
-Mobile app is super easy to use
    -Reroutes if there’s an accident
    -Gives exact traffic delay minutes
    -Easy to use
-Screen is just the right size(any bigger would be too big IMO)
    -Ton of options
    -Long plug-in cord
-Shows speed limit and your speed
-Turns off when you turn vehicle off (which is nice not to have to keep unplugging it)
-Got reconditioned unit for half price and was basically brand new.
I recommend this, definitely wish I would of got one years ago when we started taking 2week roadtrips.

I purchased this back in June of 2024 and the first thing I did was update and download the recent maps, however the gps has about a 50% success rate at finding common places such as a walmarts, banks, home depots, DMV’s. I’m located in las vegas and I can’t imagine that 50% of these businesses have moved locations since the manufacturing date of this garmin gps system, which tells me that Garmin doesn’t put recent maps on the thing… it must go back over 10 years… it’s horse and buggy shyte… which is baffling. Garmin takes you to the business you enter and it no longer exists 50% of the time… Today it took me to 3 no longer existing UPS’s before I finally got to one that existed.

Aside from that it’s a decent gps. it’s good when you enter known addresses. And I drove to florida via the gps’s guidance and it went smooth.

I was juggling two vehicles for a short period of time and this gps is a nightmare if it’s not mounted. If you even breath anywhere near the edges of the device it’s clicking in and out of windows. You can’t even move the device… it’s like juggling a hot potato and sounds off like a tap dancer if you type in a location and then go and try to set it down or put it in a cup holder or something… now you have to get it back to the map screen or whatever and it’s a pain in the balls process…. when it comes to the touch screen you need to channel the force to get it to register half the time, but for whatever reason it’s so insanely sensitive around the edges which click in and out of things without a rhyme or reason if you must use it unmounted… but like I said it’s not an issue when it’s mounted and for most people it will be and for me it now is as well… otherwise it’s like juggling a hot potato.

I’m not really docking it for this, but I’ve been trying to download recent maps over the last since I did 6 months ago and it’s not linux friendly. I couldn’t even get it to work using wine with my laptop. So as soon as I get a chance I’ll find a library or something and access windows to see if any updates help my navigation through Vegas, because right now I can’t rely on it and I realize everyone else is using their phones but I hate cell phones with a passion, but I’m having to rely on the internet for business roaming… otherwise it’s a gamble… pun intended.

My truck got broken into and was stolen after owning a year, I immediately ordered a replacement .

Ive used a lot of different GPS systems over the years on aircraft, boats, motorcycles and cars. This is a great all around on road gps for everyday traveling, commuting and long road trips. Even works good for gravel roads, logging roads etc. You can’t go wrong with this model.

Easy to update, live traffic is accurate, routes, directions are easy to follow. Easy to divert course to gas stations, restaurants, rest areas, shopping, parks, points of interest, and many other things.

Easy to get right back on route after taking a pit stop.

I compare live traffic updates to Waze and get very similar results. Because my work is in heavy traffic everyday, and my wife or kids want to use the Garmin I usually use Waze. If I had to complain about this gps it would be that current locations of hidden police speed traps are not marked. I do like that Waze feature. Something Garmin should incorporate.

It has common Garmin operating system but this one is a little more connected, a little more intuitive, a little more thorough and costs a little less. At least compared to any older models.

Also, a good size for car windshields. We use it in a Ford Fiesta, For Taurus Wagon, and a Toyota Tundra. Works great in all.

Touchscreen works great, like a modern phone and voice recognition works well, even over road noise.

The power supply has a extra usb port and a axillary music plug to stream music from your phone into a older car’s auxiliary port in its audio system. Not much need for it in a modern car but pretty awesome in our 2012 Fiesta and 2008 Tundra. Our 2004 Taurus lacks a auxiliary input 😭

Used to use it on my road bike (sold the bike) and for a while on the dirt bike (replaced it with the Garmin Tread). Worked great on the road bike and pretty good on the dirt bike but for obvious reasons didn’t want to expose it to rain, mud and crashes. As far as navigation, it works almost everywhere there is some kind of a road. Gives immediate coordinates and nearest hospital and gas for emergency’s. (Dirt bikes have emergencies now and then)

For the price, it’s hard to beat. It gets transferred to a lot of our vehicles regularly. Makes us wish we had one in every vehicle. Sick of the entire family fighting to use it.

Lastly, waypoints I saved on other Garmin GPS’s over 10 years ago, seamlessly transferred over to this device, and any waypoint I save on this or any other Garmin I have transfers over. No information or waypoints are lost. Just update it now and then and all is saved and stored for future devices.

Back to the beginning, I no longer save “HOME” as my address as the thieves that stole my last one technically know where I live now. Something to think about. Use your bosses/ex’es, mortal enemies, address’s for “HOME” instead.
