It does exactly what I expected to.
Some advice — Not all USB C ports are compatible with this. You need to make sure that your device has a USB C port that supports two things: 1) USB Power Delivery (PD), and 2) DisplayPort (DP).
Sometimes ports have some logos printed next to them. Power Delivery-compatible ports are often indicated with a lightning bolt symbol. DisplayPort-compatible ports are often indicated with the DisplayPort logo (look it up).
Sometimes ports aren’t marked, and you have to look in your device’s manual to find the details on port compatibility.

I’m a techie, and from years of trying different accessories and dongles from multiple companies, Anker has become my go-to. They’re high quality, reliable, and fast. This one came a little short of the true 1GB Ethernet speeds. Testing it via my 2GB Sonic Fiber connection, it clocked in at 930MB download and 830MB upload on my 2021 Macbook Pro via USB-C. But it’s close enough! Could be slight interference, or my Macbook itself, or the Speedtest site. I also tested the SD card reader, and it also worked beautifully.

The product worked very well. I did end up having an issue with my unit. I contacted customer service and within 24 hours they sent me out a new unit. They were very fast to reply and extremely helpful. I feel like the product was very well built and of nice quality. In the future, I would definitely buy this brand just for the superb customer service.

I picked up two these docks because they would drive a DP and HDMI monitor. They work well on my HP Win11, Linux computer and a Samsung tablet with some caveats.
Pros:
USB ports work as expected
LAN speed approaches 1Gbps as expected
Video: 4K through DP and FHD through HDMI as expected
Full-sized SD slot works as expected
Cons:
The audio jack only supports output so my headset doesn’t work. I have to use an adapter to be able to listen to audio with my headset. Can’t use for conference calls.
The uSD slots are dead on both docks so I have to use a uSD-to-SD adapter.
Video from USBC output port to USBC monitor doesn’t work. Maybe my expectations were off. Using HDMI for now.
I wanted an inexpensive dock (<$65) that could handle all my I/O and provide power to my notebooks, but the audio output, uSD and video through USBC let me down. So close, and yet so far away. I'm making the best of it for now.

Display port does not seem to be supported on Linux(and presumably other OSes such as FreeBSD or HaikuOS), avoid product if you are not using MacOS or Windows
Update to the review, after seeing the low wattage with the charging pass through I removed the USB C hub from the laptop only to see now the laptop wont charge using the hub or with the charger plug directly in the laptop, unless you want your laptop’s charging port killed I HIGHLY advise not buying this, worse product on this storefront and for consumer safety I hope this product is removed.

I think this is made of plastic, so it runs warm.
I made the mistake of plugging the PD cable into the wrong socket, so my laptop failed to charge – but this hub worked perfectly running an hdmi monitor, a usb3 hub with cameras plugged in, usb2 Bluetooth and keyboard… all running from the laptop power – so these devices aren’t dependent on the PD input. Naturally the laptop ran out of battery and I learned my lesson. Nothing broke, I just put the power into the correct socket and the pass-through charged the laptop as if it was plugged in directly.
I’ve only had it 2 days, I hope if lasts, but so far so good. I only plug one cable into the laptop now, instead of four, much easier to come and go.

I have tried HDMI and Displayport dongles from VAVA and Totu, but both adapters seemed to have significant signal interference for both Displayport and HDMI signals. You could hear interference in the 3.5mm headphone jack as well, so I kept using an alternate audio setup and tried my best to reduce artifacts on my monitor by turning contract, brightness, and sharpness down.
So far the Anker 563 has been WAY better on reducing signal interference, AND it has a USB-C connector most lack. Happy with power delivery and Displayport performance. It’s a tad large, but the benefits way outweigh the size.

I got 60 fps to my TV from it from a surface pro studio laptop. I didnt get HDR to work but I had so much trouble getting 60 fps, that HDR is just a future possiblilty, though i do miss having it on films, but im using this for projector 4K TV as a laptop pc monitor now i have a keyboard and mouse on the hub. I bought the simple usbC to HDMI from MICROSOFT that cost 99$ and only got 30 FPS, advertised HDR 60 fps. its useless . (i assumed they tested it with their own product, which is a high end 2500 laptop with 2 usb ports. My mechanical keyboard didnt work at first it was recognized as a sound device. triied every driver, no luck So i bought a Samsung high speed changing usbC to big usb, just one last thing to try. And it worked!!!! be CAREFUL with this stuff.. dont ASSUME ANYTYHING IS gonna work. try different cables and the best wires too. for a PC you need at leat 60 fps . For mouse u no more lag thant 40 ms or Game mode or it will stutter unusably. This hub gets hot though. but it works and its fast and got great value for cost and good reviews on youtube as well. Im giving 5 stars because HDR is a mess and i cant expect everything to work, it might be microsoft laptotp partial support for it.
