For a camera touted as an action camera, it sure is fragile. One small bump cracked the back screen. It still works, I suppose, but I thought an action camera should be able to take the rumble and tumble of action. Not so, I guess. If you do get one, and you intend to use it for anything more than just selfies and vlogging (for which other cameras are undoubtedly better), be sure to get a good sturdy protection cage.

After using this camera for a little while I’m loving it! So easy to use and amazing photo/video quality. Video shot on the Linear-HorizonLock setting is super stable.

Original post: I just got it and unpacked it. It came exactly as expected with no flaws that I’ve seen so far, however the descriptions says “What’s Included: HERO11 Black Camera, Extra Battery, Curved Adhesive Mount, Mounting Buckle + Thumb Screw, USB-C Cable” — the words “extra battery” means another one besides the one it comes with, and there was only one battery in the packaging. A bit disappointing since I was fully expecting two batteries to come with it.

The GoPro HERO11 Black is exceptional for dashboard recording and filming in rain, meeting all my needs. Image quality is superb, with excellent stabilization. It performs admirably in challenging conditions, making it perfect for outdoor adventures and driving documentation.
The only drawback is its tendency to overheat during extended use. However, I’ve found a solution I’m excited to test soon.

i have had a gopro hero 5 black for over 10 years. never once overheated. i have had the new hero 11 black and it has overheated three times within 5 uses, all within the first 15 minutes. lost all the video i was shooting each time as i did not know the camera stopped. use was in varied conditions. yes it is summer. but if you cant use your camera in the shade for over 10 – 15 minutes before shutoff, it is worthless. it also overheated using outside at night. camera is junk!!!
also you have to upgrade the codex on your computer before you can even watch a video. and you have to pay for it. only then you find your computer wont run this codex and you have to go buy a more expensive computer!!!!!!!!!!!!!! cant stress enough, love my hero 5 black…but DO NOT BUY THE HERO 11 BLACK…JUNK… shame gopro

I’m running into a lot of issues, as someone who typically runs GoPros for long periods of time with high storage. If you run it dead, it does not start right up when you plug it in. It takes a few minutes to get it to turn on. If you want to take video and charge at the same time, you will not add any charge to it. It only truly adds charge when it’s turned off.
You also have to remove the side of the go pro to charge it. Bought the telsin water resistent charging door. Most cable don’t seem to fit well with it….. I preffered the design of my Gopro 5 where the side door that came off to charge was not the same one that the battery and SD card were in. I feel like my battery is going to fall out when I take the side door off to charge.
Picky I guess, but I’ve ran a GoPro 5 for a long time and this was the first upgrade. Video is great, but trying to charge it is a headache.
