On the audio side of things, theres no complaints. I mean c’mon its Marshall. On the tech side of things, well then we can talk. These headphones are great if you just want to sit down and enjoy some music or movies than these are perfect, but then again there are much better headphones to purchase if youre just gonna sit down and enjoy some media. Its the sensors tho, the sensors that let the earbuds know theyre in your ear, thats the real issue here. Theyre so finicky. You just move around a bit you have to deal with your audio cutting for a sec and then an annoying beep. Just stepping off a curb will get them to go off and its mildly annoying. Other then that detail I cant really complain about anything else.

I’m obsessing a little on earbuds and I’ve now bought two Samsung, Sony, Between Pro, Jabra, Jaybird and Bose and these Marshalls by FAR sound the best. Comfort and functions are great and battery life is perfectly adequate for my uses. The down sides are mainly the bluetooth connection is not as sophisticated as the others – like Jabra. They cannot connect (or I haven’t been able to make it happen) to two devices at the same time – like laptop and phone. Also it only remembers the last connected device, so you have to switch it manually if going from phone to iPad.

Bottom line – I carry the Marshalls for sound (like on a plane) and the Jabra 85t for when I need more functionality and dynamic ease of use between devices.

I love them

Sound great, comfortable for me to wear, noise cancellation & transparency mode work well. Some issues early on with battery and connectivity, but those problems only came up in the first few days of use.

So Imma compare these to Sonys WF-1000MX4’S which I ultimately ended up returning because I liked the Marshalls SO much better.

    Pros-

Sound: The sound of the Marshall’s is awesome. If you like rock like myself you will love these things. They are punchy and hit highs well while still maintaining clarity. Fortunately they still have plenty of aswell. The Sonys were a bit warmer and had a little better bass but for my general taste the Marshall’s were the ticket.

ANC: On the Marshall’s the ANC is quite nice, not as good as the Sony’s unfortunately. To me the Sony’s block so much of the ear and come with foam tips that this is kind of an unfair comparison. Nonetheless I still wore both of them while vacuuming to compare and they came fairly close in blocking out noise. You could still hear some vaccum noise from time to time with either, but with the Sony’s it was less noticeable.

Fit in the ear: The Marshall’s are incredibly comfortable (at least for me). Super light in the ear and a joy to wear long term. Also feel fairly snug and not like they’re just gonna fly out at any time. For me this was the biggest draw back of the Sony’s and the main reason I returned them. After all what’s the point of headphones if you can’t wear them without discomfort?

Connection Stability: Both headphones are very stable in most environments. So this is kind of a wash IMO.

Case: Super big fan of the Marshall’s scratch proof case. It does have a little bit of wobble when closed like other reviewers have mentioned, but I found that the Sony case lid had just as much wobble.

    Onto the Cons-

Customization: The Marshall app is pretty bare bones. It still offers the basics like EQ adjustment (which is really just 4 preset profiles and no manual EQ) and a very limited touch control customization. Compared to Sony’s app it’s a huge difference.

Battery Life: The Marshall’s unfortunately seem to have a shorter battery life. But for me personally I don’t see it as a very good idea nor do I have a need to wear in ear headphones for a ridiculously long time. So because of that I still have yet to drain them completely and I doubt I ever will. The Sony’s definitely have them beat here.

    Summary-

I genuinely love the Marshall’s so far and it’s really surprising that they barely have over 4 stars on Amazon. And in my opinion they by far fit my needs better than the Sony’s, which keep in mind cost an extra $80 more than the Marshall’s. So do yourself a favor and give them a shot!

Edit: Ultimately ended up having to return them. Signal started to drop every couple of minutes at the gym, and if I’m gonna pay $200 for headphones I expect stability.

Got them on sale at $149 so though it was a good deal, even though I had read reviews about how poor the battery life is -and it is, not good- but since I like the Marshall sound went for it as the battery won’t be a big issue since I don’t wear them for 8 hours straight.

I have to say, they’re comfortable and sound good, the ANC is meh, but you can’t expect much from earphones like these anyway.

Problems for me started with software. The day I got them paired them with the phone, no issues until I updated them… After the update the just stopped working: tried to pair then with another phone, a tablet nothing no sound. Followed the factory reset instructions and nothing, have to say I resetted and re paired them 20 times or so until they worked.

So after that I’ve been using them for a little over a month until today one just stopped sounding (left one). So put them back in the case thinking maybe one didn’t connect properly, nope. Resetted them, nope. Factory resetted them, nope.

Funny thing is, now that I did the factory reset and paired them again… The one that doesn’t sound is the right one ha. Even paired, if I go to the Marshall app it doesn’t show any device information, like it’s not connected (even though it seems only the left one is).

I’m not sure what the isue is, for 149 thought ir was a good deal but honesty, I don’t want to be dealing with things like this, having to try and rest and pair them just because they decided not to work one time.

Even if they did work after doing all this… If I’m paying this amount want a product that works all the time. For me it’s passed the refund time so next time I’ll just go for something that 100% know it works and buy a pair of Sony
    ——–
Will give them an extra star because their support was great.
