Really quick delivery – less than 24 hours. Took all of 5 minutes to set up, and I am not tech savvy. No special set up to play a zone 2 dvd (I am zone 1) – just power up, insert disc and play. Amazing playback. Very glad I did not cheap out and get one of the off-brand ones with some if the reviews on those.

Caviat emptor.
I’d bought the Sony All Region Free Blu Ray A B C and DVD Player, and 6 feet hdmi Cable (Bundle), in February of this year as a backup for my then-current all region LG bluray player. (I have a very large all region personal bluray library.)
The LG bluray player had given up the ghost in early August, after 2 & 1/2 yrs of very heavy usage.
I unboxed the Sony All Region Free Blu Ray A B C and DVD Player, and 6 feet hdmi Cable (Bundle), & set it up, & put on Region A Criterion bluray. It played okay for 20 minutes or so, but then started to strobe & flash a black screen. & then it stopped recognising any image altogether. I tried using the extra hdml cable i have but it did no good. i tried Region B, & Region C blurays.
But nothing.
Bupkis. I’ve turned it off, turned off the flatscreen, unplugged the Sony All Region Free Blu Ray A B C and DVD Player, and 6 feet hdmi Cable (Bundle) & turned the flatscreen back on & tried to play something, anything (blurays, dvds any region), but nothing.
& I’m shocked & appalled at how quickly it it died. I am self employed & have been very busy with various deadlines, so trying to contact Sony has been a real headache.
On top of which, in trying to right this I find that I cannot return it, since I had bought it in February of this year. So much for warranties. So much for being a reliable & honourable manufacturer.

Small form factor; just what I needed

Only have a few non-us region DVDs and blu-rays, but this works perfectly on them.

I’ve been able to play DVDs from regions 1 (US), 2 (Europe), and 4 (Latin America). All of them worked fine. So it’s a multi region DVD player.
I also played Blue Ray discs from region A (America) only and no problems. I’m waiting for a Region B disc (Europe) in order to give it a a 100% as a multi region Blue Ray disc player. That’s the final test.
The only little problem is that you need to literally point the remote control to the player directly. If you don’t, it doesn’t always catch what button you’re pressing. It’s not like other remote controls where it doesn’t matter where you point it to, the device always catches the signal. I don’t know if this a player or remote control related issue.
I dunno if I can edit this evaluation but if I can, I hope it can play that region B disc. I bought this player for that disc in particular.

This region free player is set to play any region DVD out of the box, but you must follow the simple instructions to change regions for Blu-Ray discs.
1. (Make sure “Quick Start” option is turned OFF on the player)
2. Turn ON player
3. Open disc tray
4. Press the coloured button at the top of the remote to engage whichever region you wish
(Yellow = region A, Blue = region B, Red = region C)
5. Close disc tray
Done !!

Está fabuloso, compacto y se pueden ver los Blu Ray de cualquier región, A,B,C. Muy fácil de hacer el cambio de región. En el caso de las zonas para DVD, se pueden ver de cualquiera y automáticamente. Super recomendable

Exactly as advertised. Fits my needs. I had a couple of old British Documentaries that I had sitting around on Blu-Ray from when I lived overseas. This device was very simple to set up, the UI is a bit low-tech and antiquated but it meets my needs. Would recommend if that is all you are looking to do. Picture quality if quite fine.

This was a great purchase. I collect anime. Some series are only available in region B Blu-ray format. This player has allowed me to purchase and watch titles that were unavailable because of price or format.
It’s about 2/3 of the size of my older Blu-ray player. I hardly notice it at the base of my tv.
I haven’t had it for very long, but so far, so good.
I’ll submit an update if there are any issues.
I only have 2 minor complaints. 1. The remote is super tiny, but it works fine. Just aesthetics. 2. The auto-shutdown feature isn’t adjustable. It probably isn’t a big deal to most people. However, I frequently pause what I’m watching to get snacks, etc. and when I get back the unit has turned off. Honestly, sometimes I walk away for 15+ minutes. It’s a minor complaint, but worth mentioning.
Bottom line: great value; I’m very pleased with this unit; if you need a region free player this one is a keeper.

You can’t go wrong with Sony. Amazing to have. Now I can watch movies from all over the World.

The region free Blue Ray and DVD player is supposed to read Blue Ray from region ABC but it doesn’t. You need a European player for region B. Very disappointing
Ikaruga –
Very slim, compact unit. Does everything it says it does. DVD playback is region-free (R0) meaning just insert any DVD from around the world and it plays automatically. Blu-Ray playback is multi-region meaning you need to manually set the region, but this is extremely simple to do, just the press of one button after powering on the unit. (My previous Seiki multi-region Blu-Ray Player required a ‘secret code’ to be entered to change zones, but thankfully not so with this Sony model – this is so much quicker to do.) Haven’t noticed any problems with any DVD or Blu-Ray source as yet and I have a huge library of DVDs and Blu-Rays from around the globe. Great picture too. The unit seems solid enough for it’s price range and, as it’s a Sony, I’d expect it to last a while. If you want to connect it to the internet, you’ll need to attach a cable, as this unit doesn’t have Wi-Fi built-in (you’ll have to upgrade to the next model up to get that). One last thing to note is that the only video output is HDMI, and the only sound output is also through HDMI or via co-ax. There are none of the ‘ye olde fashioned standard A/V outputs’ such as S-Video, component, composite or even plain old stereo jacks. So this will only work on displays and A/V receivers equipped with HDMI or co-ax. That’s about the only down side I can see though and I’m sure there aren’t that many customers who would care about that these days anyway. For the price, it’s absolutely great.

This is a brand new player that has been reprogrammed to “all regions”. Unlike another one we tried that arrives paperwork naked in a box this has both the OEM manuals and clear instructions for selecting the Blue Ray regions. The DVD regions are automatically sensed. So far it’s played all our imports flawlessly.
Very happy with this purchase.
