I’ve only had these for a few weeks so far. But my tentative conclusion is that they are the best ear buds i’ve ever used.

Since the early 2000s, i’ve always used circumaural open back headphones. I’ve had 3 or 4 different pairs of Sennheiser wireless systems, all of which were open back. I wear these basically all day, listening to music, watching videos, and taking calls.

Perhaps because of that, i don’t like most ear buds. I feel slightly cut off and oblivious to what’s going on around me. I don’t like that i might not hear something going on in my house – maybe my dog whining or something like that. I also don’t like the sound of earbuds shifting in my ear canal or the pressure applied there. Since i’m using earbuds almost exclusively for exercise (when wearing bulky circumaural isn’t a great solution), the movements of regular earbuds irritates me constantly.

These link buds do not have those problems. As per my title, they take a bit of effort to get in the right position. I find that there’s actually a big range of positions that i can put them in, and even after a couple weeks of use, i can’t quite get it nailed the first time every time. So it’s more like – put them in, rotate this way and that way, use for 30 seconds, adjust slightly, and then go on. Once they’re in the right spot, i think the sound is great.

I also really like the feature that lets you just tap the side of your face near your ear, rather than tapping on the devices themselves. I honestly thought this was just going to be a gimmick, but it turns out to be much more effective for me than tapping the device on my last earbuds. Previously, i would miss the sweet spot or the device would not understand one of the taps, etc – not to mention the loud noise in my ear because of the seal normal earbuds make. The sony link buds just feel way more natural to use for me.

I only use these in short bursts – half an hour at a time, a few times per day. So i realize my use case might not match most people. But for me they’ve been plenty comfortable, and the battery life hasn’t been an issue.

I’ll dock a star because of how fiddly they are to get fitted. I’ll report back if i discover battery issues or if a longer use session causes me any discomfort. So far i love them.

I loved these. They are light, don’t squish into your ear canal, sound good, are fairly comfortable for prolonged use. Sadly the right bud just decided to sound like the bass blew out. I can still use the left one, but the right might as well be dead.

Muy caros para ser reacondicionado, la batería dura muy poco y dura menos del lado derecho, son cómodos y prácticos,

Sensitive ear-hole ppl might not like these if their ears are also small.

These are my favorite headphones as far as design and software but they hurt too much to wear.

I have sensitive ears that are on the small side so it’s not a shocker for me that I found these to be quite painful. More painful than regular earbuds. But they stayed in better than any earbuds I’ve tried. Never fell out, not once. So that means they’re good for small ears cuz they don’t fall out but they’re bad for sensitive small ears because of the snug fit. Give and take.

I love the open design because I’m completely aware of my surroundings. I also don’t have moisture build-up inside my ears. The controls are much more customizable than I’m used to and I appreciate that. The sound isn’t approved for music by my audiophile husband and I agree. The sound is great for any audio that isn’t music but for music it falls much flatter than my Samsung Galaxy Live Buds.

I didn’t couldn’t find a noise-cancellation setting but maybe that was just my overlooking it. There is a cool feature in which the buds automatically increase volume if the background noise increases. I loved that feature.

I have smaller than normal ear canals and it was very hard for me to get these aligned in such a way that they’d stay hooked in my ear and provide the normal volume and sound quality into my ear canal. It seems for these to work as intended, they have to be very precisely lined up with your ear canal in order to let the ambient sound through while also piping in the headphone sound without being muffled. I could only get them to fit in that way about half the time, and then whenever I’d start an activity or barely bump them they’d get out of position and I’d have to adjust them. Very frustrating experience. Maybe it’s just the way my ears are made, but beware that these are certainly not for everyone.

The Airpods Pro has been my daily driver for its excellent balance ANC and exceptional transparent mode that makes it feel like I’m not wearing earbuds. I’ve used transparent mode most often, and it uses more battery.
The Sony LinkBud is a solid solution because of the open back design for more authentic listening experience. You can hear any ambient noise and have a conversation with anybody. Once I get the fittings correctly, it doesn’t feel like I’m wearing it, and I fall asleep with it In my ears on accident. The sound quality is amazing because of the open back design of the earbuds provide an authentic listening experience. Perfect for surround sound setting when playing PC games. I can walk far away from my phone and still have solid signal.
The Sony headphone app adds additional features but it’s inconvenient to use. I just keep the stock settings. The only annoying thing about the earbuds is every time I adjust it in my ear, the music skips to next song. Then everytime I have a conversation, the music pause. I may need to change the settings. The battery last as long as most wireless earbuds in the market, so it’s nothing to brag about. Although it feel wireless, it will take some time finding right combination of earbud loop size to make it work. My right ears needs a small one while my left requires mediums.

I love these earbuds. They don’t fit into your ear so much as rest outside of the canal, so they don’t make my ears sweat. The sound is far superior to 0the MIFOs I have. My only complaint is a big one. They only last for 2 to 3 hours before I have to recharge them. I only wear one at at a time in order to continually use them. If Sony fixes this, and allows for separate device connections, these buds would rival Bose. You can manipulate the sound by using the app “Headphones” and alter the sound with an equalizer.
