I use this machine to bind materials that I use in my special education classroom. Adapted books, social stories, individual packs of materials for my students to trace or write on, the possibilities are endless! I have even gotten brave enough to try the electric feature to run the coils through….and it works!!! It took me a minute to get the hang of the cutter/crimper pliers, but the instructions are spot on. I haven’t really moved the sliding thing that adjusts where the edge of your book goes for hole punching, but it is super easy to adjust. You empty this binder just like you do a hole punch. This one has a drawer like feature that slides out so you can dump the contents easily into your trash can. I have learned that carrying the binder from home to school without emptying that drawer will leave your floor covered with tiny little glittery discs….they look pretty and vacuum up super easily, but be warned…they can annoy your husband! I definitely recommend this product.

I like how easy this coil binder is to use.
The 2 settings for hole depth (4.5 or 6.5) help with different thickness of book.
The round holes are much easier to thread than square ones I’ve used elsewhere.
The hole locations are also clearly marked in front (where the paper goes).
The punches can be easily disengage led, which I also like.
The blue color is a pleasant, calming color.
The wide tray is easy to remove to empty and holds a lot of hole punches. I have had some fall to the side if I tilt the binder, so I’m not positive it’s catching all of the holes, but overall it’s a good system.
My only area of concern is what to do (if anything) with the fuse spot on the back.

This product is amazing! I work at a retreat center and I have to bind books frequently for our guests. This machine is sturdy and easy-to-use and it has saved us tons of money by binding books ourselves. Our machine arrived with a motor that wasn’t working as expected and we reported this to the Tianse customer support team and they shipped us a new machine in the matter of a few days. They were incredibly responsive. We love this product and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a binding machine!

I’m able to bind projects during draft phases and it makes it so much easier for proofing and editing. Projects look incredibly professional, and it’s surprisingly easy to use. I’m not mechanically or technically inclined and it’s very self explanatory. Great buy.

Going to save so much money with this thing! I am always paying to bind PDFs for one reason or another, and it’s expensive. It’s true, the coil inserter runs a little too fast, and it isn’t perfect. But coiling by hand is simple to do.
The machine is really sturdy and incredibly easy to use. I am going to start binding my own personalized, lay-flat, 8 1/2″ x 11″ journals now. Let’s face it, I am going to bind anything I can think of. This thing is so cool! And with the $40 off coupon, the value factor is huge.
I almost bought another highly rated machine for $318. This machine was still more than 50% less without the discount. The Tianse Coilbind BM-S2050A would be worth every penny even at full price.

I have wanted one of these since I was about 12 and it was worth the 24 year wait haha. We bound about ten books this week! For those wondering because I couldn’t find this info myself: the coil ratio is 4:1 and it comes with about 100 coils size 8mm, which are really only good for 20-30 page books. Make sure you buy other coils but the machine works well!

I volunteer at a museum and we’ve all found this really easy to use. Some of the older publications have glue that no longer holds pages in the book. Using this binder adds new life to old publications etc.

My only regret is that I didn’t purchase this sooner. It is so very easy to use. It takes a bit to adjust where you want the paper to sit to get the holes correct at each end, but once that is done, it’s easy.
Through trial and error, I learned that you want the holes closer to the edge of the paper when you are using small coils. Large coils can have the holes a bit farther in.

I’ve been using this for binding our homeschool books for the last 6 or so months. It’s worked very well. Punches very smoothly and it’s very handy to have to the powered coiler. Saves my hands from the extra work. A very good buy!

I write music, and this is exactly what I needed to coil-bind my own scores. No more bringing stacks of pages to the copy center and waiting weeks to pick up the finished project — only to discover that they put in some of the pages upside down. Now I can do it all at home
This punches nice, clean holes, and the long side of a standard 8.5″x11″ sheet can be punched in one go. I use a lot of “legal size” paper — 8.5″x14″ — and those require two passes. But everything lines up perfectly, so that I was able to do dozens of stacks of these long sheets with no mis-punched or off-center holes.
A couple of modifications would make this a five-star product:
* When I saw the electric cord, I assumed that you would just push a button to punch the holes, but that’s not the case. There is a manual pull-over lever that works the punch. The electricity just spins a little grooved cylinder on the top of the unit, that assists in loading the plastic coils through the holes punched in the sheets, which is cool, but not really necessary. Motorizing the punch itself would be a definite plus.
* Making the unit a bit wider so that it could punch 14″ sheets in one pass would be useful. On the other hand, that would make the unit larger, and more difficult to fit in tight spaces, so maybe it’s fine the way it is.
* Some clear instructions on how to use the odd set of pliers (included) to dress the ends of the coils, would be handy. I had to go to Youtube to figure this out.
Finally, be aware that LONG coils don’t seem to come in sets of assorted sizes. Each set is 100 (or more) of one size only. Since a set can run you $30 or more, if you need several sizes, this could be expensive. OTOH, 11″ coils DO come in assorted sets, so if you’re never binding anything longer than standard letter-sized sheets, it can be fairly economical.
Over all, a good, well-built tool, which does what it’s supposed to do, and does it well.
