A Refracting Telescope for Clear, Crisp Viewing

HEXEUM’s 80mm Aperture 600mm telescope is a refracting telescope that uses a combination of lenses and prisms to focus light from distant objects and magnify them for closer view. These lenses and prisms act together to increase the resolution of the images that you view, letting you observe fine details and breathtaking views with this powerful telescope. Additionally, the metal focal length of 600mm greatly enhances the resolution, by allowing more light to be gathered from the object being observed.

Portable and Versatile Telescope Design

Though powerful, the HEXEUM Telescope 80mm Aperture 600mm is a lightweight and compact design. This telescope is perfect for anyone looking to travel with their telescope, as the aluminum dustproof tube is only 33 inches in length and weighs just over five kilograms. Product exactly as seller description, carrier service not so great, disappointing delay on birthday gift after paying an additional $80 for a speedy delivery which was almost a week late

This is the first telescope I’ve ever used/owned so I am very much a beginner. Like many of the other reviews said, the assembling instructions aren’t that great. I had to watch a few videos on YouTube in order to figure out exactly how to put it together. I’m sure if I weren’t a beginner, I may not have found the instructions as confusing as they were. But once I got the telescope assembled and watched another couple of videos to figure out how to use it, using this telescope was GREAT! It’s lightweight and easy to carry around and the portable aspect of the telescope is fantastic! If it weren’t for the confusion with the instructions, I honestly would’ve given this telescope a 5 out of 5. Definitely recommend!

It was a fun challenge that took maybe 30 minutes to figure out and set up, as the directions aren’t detailed. 1st time using it was to see the moon in such amazing detail. The phone adapter doesn’t work the best because there is a lighting/focusing issue with the phone that I will continue to figure out. 2nd time was to see Jupiter. I was happily surprised that I was able to see 4 of the moons as well. Still just a ball of light and 4 little dots. Saturn was of course the coolest to see. I was able to vividly see the the rings and a shadow on the rings from the planet. For a beginner telescope it is excellent. You will immediately want to upgrade if your budget can handle it. Tracking the plants and stars while the Earth the rotates can be a challenge. The knobs are able to make steady small smooth adjustments after a good amount of practice. It looks good standing up in the room and also packs good enough as well for bringing it out away from lit cities. The adjustable tripod does a good job of handling the weight and uneven terrain. The counterweight is worth playing around with for adjusting to whatever your telescope angle is while on uneven terrain. The laser spotting scope is very useful as well. Definitely be sure to grab some extra batteries for the laser scope.

Purchased for my husband’s birthday, was a super surprise after my hubby mentioned he had a telescope years ago! After researching, reading reviews and comparing telescopes, I choose this one! It was a great choice. My husband loves how easy it was to assemble, hardly nothing to do! Great for novice or beginner stargazers as well because the features are easy to understand, maneuver with easy set-up and move to different spots. The tripod can be adjusted and is super tall, especially for us tall folks, less of bending over! The case is durable, easy to pack the tripod and carry around. Great choice and we love the white exterior color. My husband loves his birthday gift, which will provide excellent activities for our grandchildren and us to enjoy!

I ordered this telescope for my 9 year old’s birthday. He was ecstatic! It’s fairly easy to assemble the main components, yet it isn’t wholly clear how to use the knobs for the view finder and main lens. Note, the knobs can be over adjusted and fall off. It takes some practice to get going and get used to the adjustment parameters – all part of the learning. Just be prepared with overly anxious younger ones that it takes a little bit of patience with the learning curve. In the end, well worth it!

This is a great telescope at a reasonable price! We have used it several times and have always been impressed with the amazing views we have of the sky. We had never used a personal telescope before, so I can say that the directions were helpful and we just had to be patient learning how to work it. As we settle in and start inviting people to our new place in the countryside, we know this will be a fun and popular activity!

I bought this for my husband as a gift several months ago. We were in the middle of moving to another state, so we didn’t get it out of the box for awhile. While my brother in law was with us, my husband got it out and the two men set it up together. I wish I’d taken some photos outside too, but…it was dark and I didn’t want to use a flash.

    I highly recommend this telescope!

Ordered this for my 10 year old son. It is not the cheapest or the most expensive beginner scope on Amazon, but had a decent rating and several options the others did not.

When he opened it he was so happy. It took a pretty frustrating couple nights to try to figure out everything. We did eventually figure it out. The instructions inside the package were very very minimal, and not really well worded for beginners, that could use work. The packaging and carrying case is great…and everything has a lense cover, which is essential for going outside on a cold evening and coming back into a warm house to help prevent moisture.

with that said. The tray is not properly sized for all the parts, what would be better would be a smaller case to hold each piece so they don’t clack or bang together.

The scope itself needs to have a hard stop on the crank out of the focus knobs, very first thing we did was cranked it all the way out and had to mess with it for 30 minutes to get it back together. The scope is pretty heavy compared to the tri-pod…and this is really where the problem is.

The scope is not bad, pretty easy to use, but takes a minute to figure out…I suspect that to be true with any tool like this. The tripod is too lightweight and nowhere near tall enough. It needs to be at least 1 foot taller to prevent so much bending over during viewing. Also instead of 30 degree angle adapter it needs to be 45 or even more if possible so you are not struggling to see through the scope standing almost up and down.

I put the scope on my cheap “professional” camera tripod with the help of the camera screw on the scope. AND all the tripod problems are gone.

If I were to suggest what needs to be improved?
    -Better more detailed instructions.
    -a better tripod.
-compartmented carrying case for parts instead of tray.

I give it a 4 out of 5. The scope, again, just simply works…once you figure it out.

The camera phone attachment works well, but the tripod is so light weight near the joints that the added weight of the camera/phone is too much for the tripod.

Anyway. It is decent for the price, and I like it.

I have to say that this telescope has been a big disappointment. The stand is incredibly shaky and not nearly stable enough to use the telescope accurately. I don’t know if I am doing something wrong, but the magnification is really poor and falls way short of the promotional pictures. I live in the Blue Mountains of Australia with really clear pollution free sky, and I can’t get a really clear picture of anything other than a reasonable view of the moon. If I had my time over I would choose something else.
